Get to Know Tony
Tony MacDonnell is a full-time missionary with 30 years of experience in youth and adult faith formation. This includes spiritual direction, parish-based religious programs, and hundreds of mission trips and retreats. He has spent most of his adult life as a Lay Consecrated Man of Regnum Christi, forming, teaching, mentoring, and coaching people one-on-one and in small groups. Before that, Tony studied anatomy and physiology, then worked for 7 years with people with foot, leg, and back ailments.
Throughout the years, Tony has helped people discover, form, and flourish in their lives by encouraging them to know and trust God. When people feel a call to freely offer their natural talents and gifts to the world, that is when they truly glorify God, serve their neighbor, and become fulfilled as a person! Life then becomes filled with meaning and purpose!
Tony has worked with all age groups, from children receiving their sacraments to senior citizens seeking to grow closer to God.
A whole-hearted response to God
As Lay Consecrated Men of Regnum Christi, we offer a path of growing in identification with Christ, consecrated to the Father, and his apostle in the secular world, announcing the Kingdom with the word, the work, and the offering of our own lives.
After studying anatomy and physiology, I worked in a clinic in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for 7 years, helping people with foot, leg, and lower back pain. I very much enjoyed seeing people separate from the physical and sometimes emotional pain resulting from acute and chronic injuries.
Along the way, I experienced my own supernatural relief from some of life’s aches and pains. What happened – very simple – I met God in a personal way and that changed me! It forced me to realize that the spiritual realm was a key component of my life and the world. True fulfillment, meaning, and purpose with a sense of mission became the most valuable commodity! I became an advocate for God in my workplace, community, and local parish!

My Core view of life includes my Coaching Philosophy:
Relationship
Relationship – with God – the cornerstone of who I am – why I exist, the Alpha – where I came from.
Identity
Identity – I am an adopted son of God. Not an accident, a product of evolution, but an intentional being with a variety of natural talents, spiritual gifts, personality traits, a man with specific ways of learning, praying, and relating to others. Of course, I have weaknesses and experience pain, suffering, and challenges, but they are present for my humility and a reminder that I am a mere creature!
Mission
Mission – How I live out my gifts, talents, personality traits, skills, and acquired knowledge on a daily basis in order to glorify God, serve my neighbor, and flourish as a person!
Purpose
Purpose – To know, love, and serve God and to be with him in eternity, and to help others participate in this same adventure and journey!
